I just finished reading this, which I would not recommend. I kept waiting for it to get good. I guess it is good because it gets the autistic mind right, but that is not something I am looking for. Perhaps if I had read it with that in mind, it would have been better for me.
However, there is this quote that I found humorous, “But Siobhan said we have to use those words because people used to call children like the children at school spaz and crip and mong, which were nasty words. But that is stupid too because sometimes the children from the school down the road see us in the street when we’re getting off the bus and they shout, “Special Needs! Special Needs!” But I don’t take any notice because I don’t listen to what other people say and only sticks and stones can break my bones and I have my Swiss Army knife if they hit me and if I kill them it will be self-defense and I won’t go to prison.”
Sometimes I feel like that as well.

I found this today. Kind of a fun + quirky website filled with things people find that other people have lost. Entrancing.

Watch this. It is truly inspiring and will change the way you think about your stuff.
As I said before, I was in Las Vegas for the week at a tradeshow. The booth I was in had a green room to showcase the way their product can change the way your house uses energy. Did you know that there are 11 watt lightbulbs that shine way brighter than the normal ones you are using? I didn’t, and I found it truly amazing until someone else told me they contain mercury. Mercury = toxic, right?
As I was at this tradeshow, I thought of enormous amount of resources used. If companies were truly going green, wouldn’t they try harder to put less promotional crap out there. Most of the stuff other people don’t really need and just take home and throw away. And then there are the huge banners that cover entire sides of hotels, and parking garages. These are one time use things.
I found the technology amazing, it is always inspiring to go to this show. However, I had a slight pit in my stomach when I thought of the hole we had left in the earth.

I am in Las Vegas this week.
I am excited to get some good food and going out to play at night. It is going to be hard work during the day, but thank goodness for a break from real life. Breaks are nice.
