Happy Halloween morning to you.

We are excited about a day of festivities and a candy coma.

Weekend Excursion

We went to Logan this weekend. I thought it would be freezing, because it usually is frigid and makes me want to crawl into a blanket cocoon and sleep for a year. It was warm, thank you global warming. I like these warm Octobers that don’t make you worry about hypothermia while out begging for candy from the neighbors.

We went over to Utah State Campus and walked around with Gentry. He loved it, it is rather child friendly I realize now that I have a kid and am not totally engulfed in attracting a mate.

He rolled up his pants and walked bare foot in the warm October weather. Warm! Warm? Have you been to Logan, it is like -30 on a nice day. Seriously.

surgery
JJ had a small surgery on Friday. Batman is fighting infection.

JJ said not to look at his back hair, so you better not.

Today the cut has a nice yellow bruise around it.

i love…

Gentry and I had a tough morning today. He woke up crying at 7 this morning so I went into his room to lie down with him for a little bit. I probably should have just stayed in my bed, and let him work it out on his own. Anyway, he was up early and he got exceedingly harder and harder to deal with until we were late for pre-school and he was yelling at me to bring him a treat when I picked him up. And telling me that I have a bad attitude. And yelling that I need to be nicer to him.

I was using the tactic, that I cannot hear little boys that yell at their moms. I can only hear little boys who speak nicely to their mothers. He didn’t seem to care and I was not giving in.

I guess he felt bad about being so mean to me, because his teacher came and talked to me when I picked him up. She said that he had been really quiet while he was there and during sharing time, or whatever they do, he had told her that he had been mean to his mom and that he needed to apologize to her when he saw her again. He said he had had a bad attitude and he was going to be nicer to her.

I was shocked. To say the least.

He has been much nicer since our break from each other today. So to start with today, I love…

a gift

tootsies
Waiting with a prayer in my heart, and constantly fighting back tears, for the arrival of a new little girl to join our ranks.

I wish I was there, and am sending my positive thoughts to you and your new addition.

today

simple design
I love the simple pattern of a zucchini cut open. Yes this is a zucchini, a yellow zucchini. It kind of reminds me of those old fisher price record players with the notches on the records. I made this for dinner. It was so good, even though I forgot the beans and almonds. And yes, that is the kind of stuff I have on hand around here. The tomatoes and zucchinis came from my garden.
everyday lately
This is what my days have been looking like lately. All finances and catching up. I am getting on top of it though. Thank goodness for accountants and friends who know accounting. To bad I failed accounting in college. This should make a little sense since I had to take it twice. Oh well. Shortly I should be back on top of my finances.

gone fishing

fishing
Today is a good day. JJ is not here, which is pretty normal. He didn’t go to work however. He went fishing with my brother and my brothers father-in-law. I love that he took a personal day all for himself.
