We have had a lot of home decorating done lately. We went out and hired (wouldn’t that be nice) ourselves, our labor is cheap. We painted a wall in the living room and then painted Gentry’s bathroom and put up shelves. I really like the colors, they are darker than I thought they would be, but still nice. Here is my favorite from the photo shoot. Gentry eventually took charge and started taking pictures of me, I won’t share my nose holes with you though. That is the only angle he gets of me unless he is sitting on the counter or I am in bed, which is actually a lot more than you probably think.
Also, my cough is finally gone. It only took a month and 10 days of antibiotics that I don’t think helped. Gentry has the cough now though. Poor kid. He should be done shortly since he got it about a week after I did. Hopefully.

I guess I needed a break from the blog, that and I don’t have any thoughts lately. Well, except, man it is a pig sty around here. Someone should sweep this floor. Don’t pee on me. You know, the usual.
We spent the weekend in Logan and I didn’t take any pictures, but I should have. To bad I left the memory card in the memory card reader.
We went up for my sister-in-laws baby shower. This was a good reason for me to use my new chocolate fountain. Tutu, jj’s grandma, made peanut butter cookies and they were divine dipped in chocolate. So divine, I am not going to tell you how many I ate. Oh the shame. I worked out extra hard on Monday and am going to have to do a week of killer work outs to make up for it.
Andrew, married to Marni jj’s sister, is joining the Air Force and going to basic training, oh, today. He will be gone for 6 months. That is a long time. They went on their last date Saturday and I watched their daughter Lilly, I would like to now claim the title of favorite Aunt. I held her the entire time her parents were gone and the next day she started asking for me, “Mateewa.” Marni and Lilly, you are welcome to come and stay anytime. We have cool stuff here in the valley. A splash pool. An Ikea. Harmons. The good stuff. We promise not to give you cramps or gas.

JJ and I thought of a new cereal that will knock your socks off.
High Fructose Corn Syrup Berries & Charms
We are going to copyright and patent it tomorrow, so you all better not steal our good idea. This could be worth millions.
The adult (xxx) version will be called:
XTreme High Fructose Corn Syrup Berries & Charms & Caffeine
Perhaps we should lay off the late night posting.
Does 9:30 count as late night?

I did these profiles for a friend. They turned out really rather cute. I think I am going to have to do them for my little guy. Perhaps I will hang one in his room.
They would make rather cute Mother’s Day presents.

Gentry got a new bed this week. He started hopping out of his crib in the morning. I figured it was time. He is 3 1/2. We had to switch his room with the office. I really like the result though. The light comes pouring in his room in the afternoon and really lights up the tent and the bright colors are so cute in here.
I am considering moving in with him. It feels so nice in his room.
He is really proud of his new bed. I thought he would be sleeping on the bottom bunk, but he will have nothing to do with it. He is the king of the bunk bed, and he still calls us in the morning to let us know to come and get him. He can get in and out of his bed all day long, but in the morning he needs some good cuddling. Which I don’t mind dispersing.

JJ’s company, Control4 is going to be on Oprah today.
They are shown in the opening credits, then shown after the second commercial break in background (they’re looking at wallpaper on either side of a mock fireplace that has a plasma, HC-300 and iPort) around 28 minutes in. You see the HC-300 and iPort as they pan across the screen.
The segment starts around 36 minutes in…they show a home of the future in Portland.
They are on at 39 minutes and Oprah and Nate interact with their 10.5 inch screen. They show lights in the background, music playlists and IP cameras. The segment is only about 2 minutes long, but very exciting. They are mentioned a few times with them saying the system start at $700…which amazes Oprah.
Also, they feature them on Oprah.com…On the tab for today’s show…under High Tech Gadgets for your home. They show pictures in the slide show then there’s a Where to Find products link at the bottom of the page. It shows them under High-Tech Products.

I have monthly migraines it seems, which is pretty much a nice side dish to the main dish of a cough. I finally called the doctor yesterday and begged for an anti-biotic to help get rid of the mucus cough. The migraines will pass for a few weeks. For now I am lying here watching all our kid movies with an ice pack on my head. I am trying to figure out how to permanently attach it to my head so I can get something done.
Where do I get migraines and how do I get rid of them?

I don’t think I can express how much I want to go back to Hawaii. There is a longing inside me now, almost a need.

One hour and 20 before midnight and I am feeling a bit…
I don’t know. Uninterested in the lesson I have to give in church tomorrow. Egad. How am I supposed to teach something that makes no sense to me. And I didn’t start reading or studying this a month in advance because…
I don’t do that sort of thing. I have other things to do, like paint walls and eat doritos.
I called JJ downstairs and asked for help. He came down got a cheese stick, warmed it up for 10 seconds with the wrapper on and skipped happily back upstairs. Almost like the only reason I called him down was to try my new cheese stick discovery.
And now I have one hour 17 minutes until midnight and the brain heads into hibernation. Man. I wish I was good at throwing these lessons together in a way that teenagers would like to listen. How do you entertain teens with church info? They are far more interested in prom, text messaging, and matching prom outfits.
Also, somehow while painting, I got paint in my bangs. Now it appears that I have had a sudden infestation of gray. And that nagging cough. I think the gray and coughing fits will really entertain the teens.
Maybe I should just bring a pinata. Or possibly just baseball bats. That would really keep the kiddies happy. And possibly ham sandwiches.
