They opened a new pool in my neighborhood on Monday, and I am starting to think I am going to get spoiled. We have been to the pool everyday this week and we are about to head to the little kiddie pool that is closer to my house. Gentry has a little white bum and a tan little back. I am slowly turning brown as well, even though I do pretty well keeping covered.

When JJ and I were in Hawaii we talked about how he would never look like a native. Being a tall, skinny, blindingly white, red head does really lead someone to fit in where everyone looks like they hang out in the sun all day everyday. Kind of like a flamingo in the crocodile house. I, on the other hand, after about a week in the sand and surf had turned brown, learned I didn’t need to do my hair or wear makeup to fit in. Also, you don’t have to be stick skinny in Hawaii, in fact the skinny folk are the ones who look like they don’t belong. Natural is what looked natural there and I appreciated that. Anyway.

The two of us that are prone to tanning in my house are soaking up the warm rays. The other guy, he is under an umbrella, fully clothed, with a hat and knee socks, a bottle of sunscreen and his iphone.
