more tripping

I guess I have not shared much of my trip. I went for business with jj. We went to a little tradeshow in Manhattan, it was in one of the World Trade Centers and right in between the Hudson River and the World Trade Centers that fell. They set up booths down there where there are palm trees and the sun is reflecting.

A lot of the nights we went out with dealers for JJ’s company to really nice restaurants. We really did not have a lot of time to do things that we wanted to do. But we did do just enough to make me want more.

The nights we had to ourselves we mostly just wandered. We went to Mary Poppins and walked around Time Square and Rockefeller Plaza. The last night we were there we went with Otto, a co-worker of jj’s, to Grimaldis the best pizza place in Brooklyn. The thing was that it was a major down pour complete with lightening and flooding and there was a line out the door. We figured if there was a line like that in a huge storm, the pizza had to be amazing. It was very authentic, and you basically do things their way. You sit in a cafeteria and the come and throw the plates and silverware at you take your order as quickly as possible and then toss your pizza to you. They take cash only and they want you to get out of there quickly. Fast. Fast. Faster.

If you want to see more photos of the trip, go here.

I spent three short sweaty days wandering around NYC in the summer of 2001 and think almost every day about how I want to go back.

While there, I saw an exhibit of Jackie Kennedy’s dresses at the MOMA. I bought a scarf.

I didn’t get to go to the museums. I would have loved to though. That is one thing I will have to do when I go back. I am an art lover.

While I am super excited and happy about your visit to the big NYC, I am still very very jealous. But in a good way, like, one day I am going to go there and get knocked out by pizza being thrown at my head too quickly.
